Come down and get into the worlds fastest growing water sport: Stand Up Paddle Boarding. Mitchies Jetty is the ideal location to launch your adventure and get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Enjoy the beauty and serenity of the Merimbula Lake on quality Stand Up Paddle boards while getting all the benefits of a great cardio workout. We also have single person Sit on Top Kayaks, which provide all the same benefits as SUPing, if that is your preference.

Some frequently asked questions.

+ I've never paddled before, will I be able to do it?

Dont worry, 99% of our clients have been able to paddle a SUP board after a brief introductory lesson. As long as you can stand on your feet with a little bit of balance you will be up and going in no time.

The same goes for paddling one of our Sit on Top kayaks. Our kayaks are very stable and with just a little bit of balance you shouldn't have a problem.

+ Do I have to wear a life jacket?

The short answer is: NO on a SUP board and YES on a kayak. It is a NSW Maritime directive that all people paddling a kayak must wear an approved life jacket in any body of water. While you dont have to wear a life jacket on a SUP board we do ask you to wear your leg rope at all times. If you would like to wear a life jacket on your SUP we have a variety of sizes to suit everybody.

+ What is the best time to paddle?

Early morning on a mid to high tide is definitely the best time to paddle. This is before the afternoon sea breeze gets up. On a mid to high tide you can also cover much more of the lake. At low tide you will be paddling more in the main channel and encountering much more boating traffic.

+ Where are we allowed to go?

On a kayak you have to stay inside Merimbula Lake from the bridge to the entrance of the lake at Bar Beach.

You are allowed out to sea on a SUP board however unless you are a strong paddler we wouldn't reccomend it. If you do want to take the SUP out to sea or in the surf please talk to us prior to your departure.
